Day 1

Hanoi Arrival

Today, depart Australia for Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Meal: In-flight. Accommodation: Hotel in Hanoi.

Day 2

Hanoi – Halong Bay

Today, you will travel by coach through the rich farmland of the Red River Delta to arrive at Halong Bay. Designated a World Heritage site in 1994, Halong Bay’s spectacular scatter of islands, dotted with wind- and wave-eroded grottoes, is a vision of ethereal beauty. Upon arrival, you will board a ship to visit the thousands of limestone islands filled with caves of all shapes and sizes. The sails of junks and sampans gliding along the clear and emerald waters of the bay form a magnificent scene that blends into the sky. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a fresh seafood lunch and dinner onboard. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Accommodation: Overnight on Cruise.

Day 3

Halong Bay – Hanoi

Awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands, a sight not to be missed, especially if you are into photography. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong Bay. Your driver will meet you at the Halong jetty then drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon. Meal: Breakfast, Lunch. Accommodation: Hotel in Hanoi. Optional Hanoi Street Food Tour Enjoy a walk around the Old Quarter in the afternoon and have a taste of Northern Vietnamese delicacies such as stuffed pancake, Banh My, stuffed sticky rice balls, the unique egg coffee and many more.

Day 4

Hanoi City Tour – Flight to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)

This morning, you will take a half day Hanoi City Tour to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (a monumental edifice built to commemorate the Vietnamese Revolutionary leader), One Pillar Pagoda (one of Vietnam’s two most iconic temples), Temple of Literature (known as the first university of Vietnam) and Tran Quoc Pagoda (one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam). Afterwards, get transferred to the airport for a flight to Saigon. Upon arrival, the tour guide will take you to your hotel for check-in. Meal: Breakfast. Accommodation: Hotel in Saigon.

Day 5

Saigon Free Day

Spend a day at your leisure. Meal: Breakfast. Accommodation: Hotel in Saigon. Optional Mekong River Cruise Tour Embark on a cruise to Ben Tre river and visit brickwork, coconut processing workshop, a local village making sleep mattresses. Continue taking a motor cart (xe lôi) or cycling through the green rice fields and vegetable plains. Lunch is served at the restaurant riverside. In the afternoon, sail through water palm creek by rowboat and get back to Hung Vuong Pier for departing to Saigon.

Day 6

Saigon City Tour – Cu Chi Tunnels

In the morning, take a brief Saigon tour to Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, War Remnant Museum and have fun shopping at Ben Thanh Market. In the afternoon, continue to Cu Chi Tunnels, a byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers and booby traps used by both the Viet Minh and the Viet Cong during Vietnam-US war. The tunnel system had become legendary during the 1960s as a strategic military base and underground community life. Meal: Breakfast. Accommodation: Hotel in Saigon.

Day 7

Saigon - Depart

Get ready for a flight back home. Meal: Breakfast. Accommodation: N/A.
